EVENING OF DANCE

featuring MOSAIC Dance Company
Thursday, May 4, 2017 @ 6 pm

Showcasing an array of different dance styles, including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, and ethnic forms, Folsom Lake College's Evening of Dance is a MOSAIC of dances and an enjoyable evening out in support of some of the region's most dynamic and skilled college dancers. Featuring all students enrolled in FLC's dance program, the MOSAIC Dance Company will delight the senses with compelling and visceral dances.

Professor Debi Worth is from the Sacramento region, but her life reads like an international flight schedule. She has lived, danced, and choreographed all over the world, including L.A., New York, London, and Japan, starting with her first professional contract to dance with the Sacramento Music Circus in Camelot in 1991. From there, she toured to the Island Kingdom of Tonga to dance for King Toupou's 78th birthday on the palace grounds in 1992. From 1993-1997, Ms. Worth toured the United States with the Miss USA pageant system as a choreographer and dancer. Soon after, she was contracted as acting producer and choreographer for the musical theatre touring troupe Hokkaido Players in Japan from 1998-2001, where her work was invited to showcase on the NHK televised Yosakoi Soran Dance Festival of Sapporo City.

She holds Master's degrees in Cultural Anthropology and Dance Studies from the University of Surrey, Roehampton in London. Ms. Worth owns El Dorado Dance Academy, and tours annually with her dance company Kaleidoscope Productions. She serves on faculty at Folsom Lake College as the head of the Dance Department and the A.A. Degree in Dance Studies. Her MOSAIC dance company at Folsom Lake College auditions and successfully performs at Disneyland each summer, and she plans to travel to the UK in 2015 for a dance training tour with her Kaleidoscope and MOSAIC dance companies!

Her musical theatre choreography credits include: Fiddler on the Roof, Bye Bye Birdie, Anything Goes, South Pacific, The King and I, The Wizard of Oz, Hello Dolly!, They're Playing Our Song!, The Threepenny Opera, Die Fledermaus, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Spring Awakening.
