Dedicated to Helping Emerging Artists
LocalACTS is a program that allows emerging artists to apply for mini-grants to help cover the costs of performing on a stage at the Harris Center. This program is designed to nurture the talent of new artists and expand access to the arts in our community.
How to Apply for a LocalACTS Grant
- Determine Eligibility
For this grant, an emerging artist is defined as a person or group in the early stages of development whose work has gained recognition but has not yet established a solid reputation.- Funds may be used to offset the costs of renting Stage Two or Stage Three at the Harris Center.
- Performances must be open to the public, with a percentage offered free of charge to the community.
- Four seats must be reserved for the grant donors as honored guests.
- Apply Online
- Panel Review
The review panel consists of staff from the Folsom Lake College instructional team, the Los Rios Colleges Foundation philanthropy team, and members of the Harris Center staff.- Applicants will be notified via email if they are selected.
- Priority will be given to first-time applicants and Folsom Lake College students.
- Deliverables
- As a condition of receiving the grant, we ask that you provide a story of impact detailing how the funds helped your emerging career. We also request at least two photos from your event.
