Accessibility

The Harris Center would like everyone to enjoy the Center's offerings. Towards that end, the Center provides the following services for increased accessibility. To assist our staff in serving you, please mention any accessibility requests or questions to our Customer Service Representatives when placing a ticket order.

Accessible Seating

Accessible seating locations are available for patrons in wheelchairs or with limited mobility in all theaters. Accessible seating areas are noted on online seating maps when purchasing tickets via the Harris Center website. If purchasing over the telephone or in person, please advise Ticket Office Staff to ensure your seating needs are met (i.e. accessible seating, navigating stairs, etc.). Please contact the Ticket Office at 916-608-6888 so that a Customer Service Representative may assist you if needed.

Assisted Listening Devices

Assisted listening devices (ALD) are available for checkout for all Harris Center events free of charge by making a request with an usher at the Kirklin Coat Check. A small, refundable deposit or a driver's license is requested at the time the device is issued, and returned when the listening device is returned.

Sign Language Interpretation

The Harris Center offers sign language interpretation upon request and for previously designated performances. To purchase tickets closest to the interpreter for a previously designated performance, please contact the Harris Center Ticket Office at either 916-608-6888 or TicketOffice@HarrisCenter.net. Requests for sign language interpreters for undesignated events must be received at least two (2) weeks prior to the event by contacting the Harris Center Ticket Office at 916-608-6888 or TicketOffice@HarrisCenter.net.

Once an interpreter is assigned to a performance, that event becomes a sign language designated performance so that others will know the performance is being interpreted. While the Harris Center will do its best to fulfill all sign language interpreting requests, confirmation is subject to availability of interpreters – for this reason, the earlier a request is made, the better.

Audio Description

Audio description services are now available for Harris Center Presents events upon request and for previously designated performances. To request Audio Description Services, please contact the Harris Center Ticket Office at either 916-608-6888 or TicketOffice@HarrisCenter.net. Requests for audio description of performances not previously designated for audio description must be received at least two (2) weeks prior to the event by contacting the Harris Center Ticket Office at 916-608-6888 or TicketOffice@HarrisCenter.net.

Once a describer is assigned to a performance, that event becomes an audio description designated performance so that others will know the performance is being described. While the Harris Center will do its best to fulfill all audio description requests, confirmation is subject to availability of describers – for this reason, the earlier a request is made, the better.

At the event, Audio description services require checkout (free of charge) of a listening device available by request at the Kirklin Coat Check (be sure to indicate that it is needed for audio description, as the same devices are used for assisted listening on a different channel). A small, refundable deposit or a driver's license is requested at the time the device is issued, and returned when the listening device is returned.
