Director of Marketing and Communications

Under the direction of the Harris Center's Executive Director, develops, organizes, and directs communications, marketing, and public relations for the Harris Center and its programs; emphasis includes recruitment, retention and cultivation of loyal patrons, particularly in support of the Center's presentation of touring artists and fund development efforts.

This is a full time, year round management position with an annual starting salary of $76,020 plus a solid benefits package including health insurance, CalPERS retirement, 3 weeks of annual vacation, etc.

Students currently enrolled and taking a minimum load of 6 units at one of Los Rios Community College District’s four colleges may apply for student positions at the Center. Student positions are available in all areas of the Center’s operations. College credit is available through the work experience program. Paid and unpaid internships are available.

Pay rate: $12.00/hr  (Maximum 26 hours per week when classes are in session.)

Serves as a Head Usher or House Manager for events, working with other staff and volunteers to provide front-line customer service for patrons attending events. This is an upper-level position in Harris Center's front-of-house staffing pool for candidates with solid experience (at least one year) in front-of-house operations for public events – minimally as an usher, preferably as a Head Usher, House Manager or equivalent.

Web & Social Media Developer

Manages the content, design, implementation, maintenance and technical support of the Harris Center's website (harriscenter.net) and social media webpages. Provides programming and design support for the web-based content management system and similar web applications through the use of relevant scripting and programming languages. Coordinates generation and execution of email correspondence with Marketing department and other related departments. Performs intermediate graphic design duties, as necessary, to generate and maintain Ticket Office signage, ticketing materials (e.g., ticket stock, envelopes, etc.), ticketing-specific promotional advertisements, and website or email visual elements; coordinates with Media Services in the generation and execution of lobby visual slide-shows. Performs related duties as required.

Intermediate graphic design experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar software; basic FTP software; intermediate HTML and CSS design (some Javascript, preferable); familiarity with Internet applications such as HTML, HTTP, and XML.

Graphic Designer

Under supervision of the assigned administrator, plans, designs, prepares, and produces graphic arts for production, web applications, printing, and special projects. Carries production from concept to delivery including the design of materials such as class schedules, catalogs, reports, student guides, handbooks, manuals, directories, newsletters, brochures, programs, invitations, advertisements, posters, letterhead, logos, business cards, overhead transparencies, forms and charts in support of instructional, student services, and campus-related activities.

Arts Education Coordinator

The Harris Center is seeking a consultant(s) to provide the following services:

Work with Harris Center and Folsom Lake College staff and volunteers to... 

  1. Assist with the development, execution and oversight of Harris Center arts education programs, including the long term vision, goals, and tactical strategies for these programs;
  2. Coordinate and oversee the on-going operation, improvement, and growth of education programs at the Harris Center for the Arts at Folsom Lake College;
  3. Assure participation in the Harris Center’s arts education programs through effective marketing, communications and relationship building;
  4. Contribute to the development of funding proposals and grant applications for arts education programs and initiatives.
