Employment Opportunities

Overview

The Harris Center features three intimate state-of-the-art performance spaces, an art gallery, one of the Sacramento region’s largest recording studios, and spacious educational facilities. Center programs include presentations that bring artists from around the world to perform and share, partnerships that make the Center a home for local artists and arts organizations, and productions of work created and/or developed on site.

Regular employees include management and classified staff of the Los Rios Community College District overseeing the operations of the Harris Center. Positions are typically salaried with benefits.

Students currently enrolled and taking a minimum load of 6 units at one of Los Rios Community College District’s four colleges may apply for student positions at the Harris Center. College credit is available through the Work Experience (WEXP) & Internship Program. Paid and unpaid internships are available.

Temporary Classified Employees are limited to 135 days or 960 hours worked in a fiscal year (July 1 - June 30), and may not exceed twenty-nine (29) hours per work week. Temporary Classified Employees are paid on an hourly basis and are not provided health benefits, vacation or holiday pay.

Positions are hired throughout the season when the need arises.

Contract positions augment the staff as independent contractors of the Los Rios Community College District supporting projects, programs, and initiatives of the Harris Center as the need arises.
