Family Concert: Young Person's Guide

Omari Tau, narrator

Treat the whole family to an amazing performance by this season’s Young Artist Competition Winner and explore the instrumental forces of the symphony in Britten’s captivating Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra. After the hour-long concert, our ever-popular “Instrument Petting Zoo” will take place in the lobby, Stage 2 and Stage 3. Children can try out various instruments of the orchestra under the guidance of symphony musicians. An educational and fun experience for children and adults alike.

Omari Tau is a versatile performing artist, educator, director, and composer, equally comfortable narrating and vocalizing with over 30 years in the arts. He toured with the international company of Disney’s Lion King and other credits include roles at many Tony Award-winning theaters and in various recordings. With degrees from Michigan State University and the Moores School of Music-University of Houston he feels at home in the operatic and musical theatre worlds, as well as in jazz and pop genres. The Sacramento native is Co-Founding Artistic Director of Rogue Music Project, Professor of Vocal Music at Cosumnes River College, and member of the band Solabel.
